Our Founder

Keiasha is a daughter, mother, innovator, youth advocate, and leader who was led to create Lillies in Bloom out of her own need for guidance as a young adult after the passing of her mother, Lillie Faye Gibson in 2013. Following this highly impactful tragedy, Keiasha embarked on the daunting journey of navigating her new normal, and eventual life as a new mother and single parent.

As Keiasha reflected on her life, specifically her teenage years, she realized that she hadn’t received many fundamental lessons or guidance that could have positively impacted her present life as an adult. This was not due to having unloving or intentionally ill-equipped parents, but rather a lack of tools, information, and accessible resources. In addition to those challenging factors, like most girls of color, Keiasha’s parents belonged to a generation that didn’t normalize addressing such social, emotional, and physical matters that greatly affect the outcome of potential success for young girls. She spent her adolescence and teenage years learning many lessons on her own, privately, through trial and several errors but it was not in vain! Keiasha has dedicated the last decade of her life to understanding the needs of girls and women in marginalized communities and created Lillies in Bloom to honor and support the thriving spirits of young girls who are where she once was.

Keiasha received her BA in Communications from the California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her MA in Urban Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and has a professional background in hospice care, and currently works in medical education. She is also a music and podcast enthusiast who enjoys watching football, documentaries, and has a true appreciation for people working towards, or in their purpose.
